Your first visit to our office will be a consultation with one of our doctors which will include completing paperwork such as medical history and consent forms.
Please bring a list of all current medications (over-the-counter and prescription), any pertinent medical conditions, and the referral slip and x-ray (if available) from your referring dentist, so that we can determine and properly diagnose and create the best treatment plan. Prior to the first exam please advise us if antibiotic pre-medication is necessary, or if you have a latex allergy.
After completing your paperwork, the dental assistant will review the information and your pain history prior to taking digital x-rays of the tooth or teeth in question. Once the x-rays are complete the doctor will review, with you, the health history and evaluate symptoms prior to testing and examining the tooth or area. After tests are complete and the x-rays are reviewed, a diagnosis will be given to determine the best treatment and prognosis. You will have an opportunity to ask questions of the doctor prior to your decision. If you decide to receive treatment, the treatment will proceed according to your individual needs or schedule. Endodontic therapy can usually be started and completed in one appointment but in specific cases we need two or more visits. The office staff will make every effort to make the next appointment as quickly as possible so you may return to your general dentist to complete your treatment. Some of the services our doctors provide are root canal therapies, retreatment of previous root canals, and root end surgeries.
